A program to help original equipment manufacturers, or OEMs, improve their global supply chain has been launched by the S.C. Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
The program offers companies services that focus on the entire supply chain. The program aims to help companies improve the speed of delivery of the supply chain, improve collaboration, reduce risk and decrease costs.
Research shows that companies suffer from a lack of collaboration and visibility in their supply chains, especially in tiers farthest from the customer, the S.C. partnership said. Studies also found that the total cost of ownership is not understood and there is no synchronized plan for the entire supply chain.
