A McLean, Va.-based real estate investment trust has bought the Verizon Wireless call center in northeast Richland County for $29.2 million.
The 146,483-square-foot building was purchased by Gladstone Commercial Corp. According to the Richland County Assessor’s records, the facility’s previous owner was Spears Creek Realty LLC.
"We are excited to add to our portfolio this Class ‘A’ office building that serves as a primary operations center for this well-positioned credit tenant," said Buzz Cooper, Gladstone managing director.
Gladstone invests in and owns leased industrial, commercial and retail property and makes long-term industrial and commercial mortgage loans.
The company’s portfolio of about 80 properties includes a 278,000-square-foot facility in Duncan, occupied by AFL Telecommunications.
Verizon moved its customer service facility and 1,500 employees to the Spears Creek Church Road location in 2010.
