DPX Labs has leased space at the Enterprise Campus at Midlands Technical College.
Founded locally by Bill Brewer, DPX is a USC/Columbia Technology Incubator company. It manufactures and sells consumable products for sample preparation that are used in chemical analysis.
The company is moving from a facility along U.S. 1 in Lexington County.
The company’s products use patented technology, called disposable pipette extraction, that makes extractions more convenient through the use of pipettors and robotics, and five to 10 times faster than conventional extraction methods. Examples for use of this DPX technology include drug testing in blood and urine, and pesticide residue analysis in fruits and vegetables.
Tony Hanna, first vice president for retail services at CBRE Columbia, represented the tenant; and Beverly Frost, who handles leasing and sales activities at the Enterprise Campus, represented the landlord.
The Enterprise Campus is on Midlands Tech’s 150-acre campus adjacent to Carolina Research Park, near Interstate 77 and Farrow Road in northeast Richland County.
