In the heart of Richland County is Columbia, the capital city of South Carolina and one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the nation.  Columbia is home to some of the counties well established and charming historic neighborhoods.  Columbia also has many new neighbohoods due to the revitilatzation of the urban core and Main Street.  Many of the downtown neighborhoods are with in walking distance to community parks, entertainment districts, public schools and are an easy 5 to 10 minute commute to the CBD. 

Just a short 20 minute commute from the City are the popular suburban areas of Northeast Columbia, Irmo and Southeast Columbia.  These large suburban areas offer many modern amenities including newly developed shopping centers, new schools and large master planned subdivisions.
